The
Activities
Everyone
who buys the Easiteach Maths Content Pack is sent a set of ready-made
whole-class teaching Activities that meet your planned Maths objectives.
These
Activities can save you time when planning lessons. Each downloadable
Activity comes with comprehensive teaching notes.
The Activities
are provided by RM, Heinemann, Ginn and Rigby and are linked to leading
maths schemes such as Abacus, New Heinemann Maths and Numeracy Focus.
You can
access the website and download Activities at school, and also at home,
with a Teacher Use licence. The teaching Activities are designed to
be flexible - reflecting best-practice and ready-to-use - but you can
also adapt them to meet specific lesson needs.
What
Does an Activity Consist of?
Each Easiteach
Activity has:
- A set of teaching screens.
- A printable page of accompanying teaching notes (these are found
on the last page of the Easibook).
Content Pack Index Page
The Easiteach
Maths Content Pack is accessed through an Index page. There are separate
index pages for the National Numeracy Framework or Scottish 5-14
Guidelines. Once you access the index page you can find Mental Starter
and Main Activity files based on age range and mathematical topics.
What
do the Teaching Notes Contain?
The teaching
notes for each Activity contain detailed information to help you teach
the objective in the most effective way, including:
- Full
referencing to the National Numeracy Framework or Scottish 5-14 Guidelines
for Maths, plus Maths scheme referencing where chosen.
- Educational
information to guide you through teaching the Activity.
- Advice
on effectively questioning your pupils throughout the Activity.
- Key
vocabulary section.
- Ideas
on how to extend the Activity.
- Tips
on getting the best out of the plenary session.
