The Teaching Tool

RM are pleased to release the Geography version of Easiteach. This has already received an excellent response from both teachers and advisors. Easiteach Geography is available as a ‘plug-in’ for schools who have already licensed Easiteach Studio. The Easiteach Geography tools have been designed to be appropriate for both Primary and Secondary schools.

Once installed, schools will find a new set of Geography tools available, all designed specifically to help with the teaching of Geography. These tools include:

• A map builder palette for constructing your own maps using pictures or Ordnance Survey® symbols.
• Grid overlays and a grid reference reader for 4- and 6- figure grid references.
• A grid fill tool so that you can shade the grid overlays - perhaps to show land-use or change over time.
• Scaleable, calibrated on-screen rulers and a distometer tool for measuring paths, shapes, journeys - in fact anything! It can be used to take accurate measurements from images imported into Easiteach or captured by hardware such as digital cameras.
• A navigator tool for creating and following paths, using left-right or compass directions.
• A selection of compass roses.
